Neil Stephens Chief Executive Officer

Neil was appointed Chief Executive Officer of Port of Brisbane in March 2022, after acting as Interim CEO since July 2021. He joined the Port of Brisbane as Chief Financial Officer in mid-2020 overseeing all finance, funding, financial reporting, treasury and tax activities.

Prior to joining the Port, Neil was Business Development Director at Cardno plc, spent 8 years as the Chief Financial Officer then the Chief Operating Officer of Springfield City Group, and 2 years advising a variety of companies on funding, structuring, acquisitions, property and overall strategy.

Neil qualified with KPMG in the UK, before working in executive positions including Business Development and M&A Director at British Telecom, Commercial and Venturing Director at Reuters and Chief Financial Officer at two technology start up companies. He holds a Bachelor of Science (Hons) in Economics and a Masters in Finance and Accountancy.

Peter Keyte Chief Operating Officer

Peter joined the Port of Brisbane in January 2004 and is responsible for managing, developing and improving shipping and landside services in the Port of Brisbane, the operation of the Brisbane Multimodal Terminal (BMT), Port Operations, Port Security, Marine and Dredging operations, Trade Development and Strategy, Health and Safety, and emergency response.

Prior to joining the Port of Brisbane, Peter had 22 years' experience in the shipping and stevedoring industry with P&O. He has held Senior Management positions in various P&O Group companies, working in the UK, New Zealand, Asia and Sydney.

David Keir Chief Commercial Officer

David joined the Port of Brisbane in October 2016 and in his role as Chief Development Officer has successfully led the Property and Sustainability teams during a period of sustained growth and development of the property portfolio. He has also led and championed the core sustainability agenda for the business over this time.

David has over 30 years’ experience in the property industry having led and managed businesses across the country that have created sustainable projects in all Australian states and capital cities. He has previously held senior executive roles with some of Australia’s leading development companies.

David was appointed to the role of Chief Commercial Officer in July 2023 and now leads the Trade and Property functions at the Port.

David holds a Bachelor of Applied Science – Built Environment and Graduate Diplomas in Urban and Regional Planning and Project Management. He has also completed the Executive Leadership Program at The Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania.

Geoff Smith Chief Financial Officer

Geoff joined Port of Brisbane in February 2023 as Chief Financial Officer, having responsibility for the Port’s financial reporting, funding, procurement, treasury and tax activities.

Geoff’s professional career includes 6 years in advisory and consulting roles with KPMG before a number of executive roles including Group Chief Financial Officer of Virgin Australia during his 14 years in the aviation industry.

Geoff is an Associate of the Institute of Chartered Accountants, holds a Bachelor of Commerce from the University of Qld and is a member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.

Jenny Draper Executive General Manager Governance

Jenny joined Port of Brisbane in 2019, bringing significant expertise to her role as General Counsel/Company Secretary. Jenny was appointed to the position of Executive General Manager Governance in September 2022, leading a newly created Governance business unit incorporating Health and Safety, Legal, Risk and Compliance, Governance, Quality and Company Secretariat.
 
She has over 20 years of experience working in top-tier law firms and in-house legal roles in Australia and London, had started her legal career at King Wood Mallesons in Australia, followed by Linklaters in London. She has held General Counsel/Company Secretary roles at Multiplex and Brookfield Asset Management and was most recently with Lendlease in London and Brisbane. 
 
Whilst in-house, Jenny has led teams and provided strategic advice to Boards and management on a range of issues, including infrastructure and property development, M&A transactions, complex structuring arrangements, debt and equity financing, joint venture and partnership agreements, corporate governance and company secretarial matters. 
 
Jenny holds a Bachelor of Commerce and a Bachelor of Laws (Honours) and has Graduate Diplomas in Company Secretarial and Applied Finance and Investment.

Daniel Burley Executive General Manager Infrastructure

Daniel joined the Port of Brisbane in 2006 and leads the Infrastructure Business Unit. He is responsible for landside and waterside asset management, engineering, capital projects and land development.

During Dan's time with the PBPL, he has held a number of roles across the Infrastructure team. He led the Land Development team prior to his current role and was the Senior Project Manager for the Brisbane International Cruise Terminal. Dan has been responsible for delivering a wide range of works including major capital projects, maintenance programs, capacity upgrades and strategic initiatives. He is passionate about working collaboratively to achieve best business outcomes and to deliver and maintain assets in a sustainable way.

Daniel holds a Bachelor of Engineering (Civil) (Hons) from the University of Queensland.

Luke Abercrombie Chief Information Officer

Luke joined the Port of Brisbane in 2022 and leads the Technology Business Unit. Through people and technology, Luke is leading the innovation agenda and steering the Port in the next stage of digital transformation.

With experience leading teams and delivering outcomes for many industry leaders in Australia and the UK, Luke has an unwavering commitment to exploring and embracing innovation and technology to improve safety, reduce risk, protect environmental outcomes, and deliver strong commercial results. His expertise covers the full lifecycle of technology and business solutions, from strategy and ideation to delivery and operations.

Luke holds a Bachelor of Information Technology from Queensland University of Technology (QUT). Before joining Port of Brisbane, he held leadership roles at Transurban, QSuper, Energex, The Financial Times (UK) and Pearson.

Andy Perry Executive General Manager Marine

Andy joined the Port of Brisbane in 2023 and leads the Marine Division responsible for all marine activities, including the Dredging and Surveying operations.

Andy has over 20 years’ experience in the Maritime industry both ashore and afloat between Australia, Europe and the Middle East. Andy comes to the PoB with extensive experience in maritime safety, compliance, vessel management and commercial marine operations. He is committed to continuing and enhancing a safe, sustainable and efficient Marine Division both now and for the future.

Andy holds his Master 1 (Master Unlimited) Certificate of Competency from the UK.

Steffany Sinclair Executive General Manager People and Performance

Steffany leads the human resources, business support and payroll functions and is responsible for developing and implementing the People Strategy for PBPL.  She partners with all levels of the business to build capability, drive employee engagement and enable leaders to achieve their strategic and operational targets.

Steffany has over 10 year’s experience in human resources including in organisational design, organisational development, workforce planning, industrial relations and employee engagement initiatives which improve business performance and attract and retain key talent.

Ms Sinclair is a business and human resources graduate of the Queensland University of Technology, holds a Masters in Human Resource Management in Employment Relations and is a member of the Australian Human Resources Institute (MAHRI).

Brendan Connell Executive General Manager Sustainability and Corporate Relations

Brendan has led the Port’s Corporate Relations function since 2017 and has recently added Sustainability to his responsibilities.

With an emphasis on building partnerships with stakeholders, Brendan will oversee the Port’s ambitious and industry-leading Sustainability agenda, along with planning and implementing the Port’s communications initiatives, its interaction with local and regional communities, and it’s strategic interaction with customers and Government.

Brendan has over 20 years’ experience across media, government and communications sectors, has previously served as a Senior Advisor to a Deputy Prime Minister, two Premiers, and a Deputy Premier, and holds a Bachelor of Journalism from QUT.
