PORT WORKS

Port of Brisbane Pty Ltd (PBPL) provides the necessary infrastructure to facilitate trade growth through the sustainable planning and development of new facilities and the maintenance and management of existing facilities at the Port of Brisbane.

Over the next five years (from 2020/21), PBPL is planning to invest approximately $466 million in port infrastructure works.

CURRENT PROJECTS

A number of significant infrastructure projects are currently underway.

  • Port West Industrial Estate - planning and ground improvement works are underway for Stage 2 of our Port West Industrial Estate at Lytton which adjoins the existing Port West estate

  • Future Port Expansion (FPE) area – work continues on the award-winning FPE area, which will provide a further 224 hectares of port land and increased quay line. In 2018, we welcomed our first logistics customer, Silk Contract Logistics, to the FPE area – a milestone for the Port of Brisbane community

  • Offsite Stormwater Treatment – Queensland’s first scientifically-based and assessed offsite stormwater treatment project in the Lockyer Valley and Brisbane City, improving regional water quality outcomes and benefitting development at the Port of Brisbane

  • NCOS Online – A world-leading vessel operability tool and under keel clearance technology enabling bigger and deeper draft vessels to call at the Port of Brisbane. The technology – a partnership between PBPL and Seaport OPX – is now exported to ports around the world
