BRISBANE MULTIMODAL TERMINAL

The Brisbane Multimodal Terminal (BMT) is a designated interface between rail, road and the container terminals at the Port of Brisbane. 

The integration of these transport modes, including a dual-gauge rail link, enables the movement of large volumes of interstate and intrastate cargo into and out of the port by rail.

The BMT utilises a dedicated, tailored terminal operating system which is allows an  interface with rail, shipping and container terminals and allows the  monitoring of freight containers as they move through the Port.

The BMT operates top lift container handling equipment including a new model designed to reduce emissions significantly throughout its lifetime.

The BMT can offer interim depot solutions for import or export, dry or refrigerated containerised cargo as well as some types of freestanding cargo.  Please call the team at the BMT for any inquiries.

For under bond FCL movements the BMT Customs Depot Licence number is GA66E. Please ensure this is arranged prior to arrival at the BMT.

The BMT is licenced as a major hazard facility under the Queensland Work Health and Safety (WHS) Act & Regulation (2011). For more information about this licence, please click here.

The facility operates during the following times:

•    Monday to Friday:  8.00am to 5.00pm
•    Saturday:  As required
•    Sunday: Closed

Note: Operating hours are determined on rail schedules and demand and may change daily.

The current rates for the BMT are listed below.

  • TERMINAL LIFT RATES

    • $69.34 excluding GST per TEU 

    • $82.59 excluding GST per FEU

  • POWER MONITORING & STORAGE RATES

    • $67.00 excluding GST per TEU per calender day or part there of 

    • $77.00 excluding GST per FEU per calender day or part there of

  • STORAGE RATES

    • Empty Container

      • $40 ex GST per container per calendar day or part thereof after 2 free calendar days in the terminal 

    • Full Container

      • $45 ex GST per container per calendar day or part thereof after 3 free calendar days in the terminal
