Port of Brisbane Pty Ltd (PBPL) is proud to share that Hummingbird House has been selected as its Employee Charity for 2023/24.
Hummingbird House is Queensland’s only children’s hospice, and one of only three children’s hospices in Australia.
The organisation provides specialised paediatric palliative care services to babies, children and young people with a life-limiting condition, helping them make every moment precious when life is short.
PBPL CEO, Neil Stephens, said the Port was proud to support Hummingbird House and its work to deliver specialised support services to Queensland families.
“Hummingbird House is an amazing organisation providing Queensland families critical support,” said Mr Stephens.
“We thank Hummingbird House for the vital work they are doing for Queensland families in our local communities, and we look forward to partnering with them over the next 12 months to identify volunteering and fundraising opportunities for our employees.
“Last year, our employees came up with some fantastic fundraising initiatives including regular BBQs and recycling efforts. And as ever, PBPL was very proud to dollar-match the money raised by our people. I’m looking forward to the great ideas our team will come up with this year to help raise much-needed funds for Hummingbird House.”
Since 2016, Hummingbird House has welcomed hundreds of families from right across Queensland into their organisation.
