Local Bayside community organisations including Rosie’s Youth Mission, BABI Youth and Family Services and Redlands Primary Sports League are among 12 recipients to receive a welcome funding boost from Port of Brisbane’s $100,000 Community Grants Program.
Every year since 2013, Port of Brisbane Pty Ltd (PBPL) has awarded $100,000 in grant funding to community organisations and registered charities, helping them deliver important initiatives across south east and southern Queensland with a key focus on community, youth leadership, education and environment.
This year also marks the Community Grant Program’s 10th year, with over $1million awarded to 81 community focused organisations since its launch.
PBPL CEO, Neil Stephens, congratulated this year’s recipients and thanked them for their valuable work.
“We’re incredibly proud to support a diverse range of organisations and projects that truly make a difference to their local community,” said Mr Stephens.
“This year’s Port of Brisbane grant funding is supporting a range of initiatives and services with organisations based across our trade hinterland including the Bayside, greater Brisbane area and west to Chinchilla.
“Many of our community partners have told us that the demand for their services continues to grow, particularly as cost-of-living pressures increase. It’s our hope that this funding will help their services go that little bit further.
“We’ll also work with them to identify volunteering opportunities for our employees, to enable our people to give back to the community as well.
“We congratulate and thank all the grant recipients for the vital work that they are doing in their communities.”
